Mill Applied Coating
The coating process used for the antimicrobial surfaces, known as roll coating or mill applied, is harder and more effective than powder coating processes as it yields a hardness of a 2H pencil while powder coating yields a hardness of only a B-HB pencil. At Mapes & Sprowl Steel, our Agion Antimicrobial Treated Steel is mill applied, ensuring a long-lasting efficacy under normal wear and tear conditions and is applied uniformly across the width and the entire length of the coil.
Available Inventory
All our inventory is made in the USA. The Agion Antimicrobial Treated Steel has a coating which is mill applied on G90 galvanized steel. This coating process can take place on one or both sides of the material. Referred to as “One Side Blue”, indicates to the user which side is protected by the antimicrobial barrier. The Agion Antimicrobial Treated Steel has a thickness of 0.1 – 0.2 mils, and has a uniform thickness across the entire width and length of the coil. The opposite side of the Agion Antimicrobial Treated Steel has a clear epoxy coating that is ready for fabrication. We also carry Agion Antimicrobial Treated Steel with coating on each side, typically referred to as “Two Side Blue” or “Two Side White”.
